Voluntary Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
ABOUT US
This statement is made on behalf of all of the companies which operate under or in connection with the Club Quarters name, including the Grand at Trafalgar Square.
These companies, along with subsidiaries, operate hotels in the UK. Although we are not required to make a modern slavery statement under section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, we are making this voluntary statement to show our commitment to ethical trading principles and to set out the steps we are taking to identify and reduce risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and in our supply chains.
OUR COMMITMENT
We oppose and do not tolerate slavery, forced labor and human trafficking in any of its forms. We are committed to improving our practices to combat modern slavery or human trafficking in any part of our business by taking steps, as far as we are able, to ensure that our supply chains are free from slavery and human trafficking.
TRAINING
To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, we provide extensive training to all of our staff. This takes place during on-boarding of new staff and then annually thereafter.
DUE DILIGENCE AND RISK ASSESSMENT
Our staff are directly employed or engaged by us - we do not routinely use agency workers. We comply with legal requirements relating to checks on the right to work of our staff and we ensure that our staff are paid compliantly with legislation.
If we were to use agency staff, we would only use reputable employment agencies.
To help identify and monitor the risk of slavery and human trafficking in our supply chain we make reasonable efforts to vet suppliers and sub-contractors to ensure that they are committed to ethical labour practices. We aim to include anti-slavery and human tracking provisions in our contracts with suppliers if reasonably practicable.
EFFECTIVENESS IN COMBATING SLAVERY AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING
We use the following key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure how effective we have been at ensuring that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in any part of our business or supply chains:
- The percentage of suppliers and sub-contractors reasonably vetted for ethical labour practices.
- The number of inspections of direct suppliers and sub-contractors in our supply chains in the past year.
- The number of reported breaches in the past year.
- Percentage of staff receiving training on identifying and addressing the risk of slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains.
FURTHER STEPS
We continually review the effectiveness of the steps we have taken to ensure that there is no slavery or human trafficking in any part of our business and in our supply chains and are always looking for additional procedures that we feel would be effective to combat slavery and human trafficking.
